MARS ROVER LANDING WILL INSPIRE THE NEXT GENERATION OF EXPLORERS, SCIENTISTS, & TECHNOLOGISTS!

A MISSION TO REMEMBER

Mars Rover Landing was announced by NASA in 2012 during a live worldwide press conference for the Curiosity Mission. Danielle Roosa, the granddaughter of Apollo 14 astronaut Stuart Roosa, demonstrated the game live, proving her skill at landing the Curiosity rover on Mars. Want to try your hand at landing a rover on Mars? You can! Your mission: guide NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity through the “Seven Minutes of Terror” to its landing site safely on Mars. Use your body to direct the craft and control thrusters as you descend. Gain avatar gear and achievements for safe landings. The rover’s success depends on you!

EXPERIENCE SPACE LIKE NEVER BEFORE

Mars Rover Landing was the product of a groundbreaking partnership between NASA, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Microsoft & Smoking Gun Interactive. Our team worked to deliver a first-of-a-kind, compelling interactive experience that allows players to take control of Curiosity’s spacecraft as it streaks through the Red Planet’s atmosphere on a harrowing journey that mission engineers have dubbed “seven minutes of terror.” In the end, a rocket-powered sky crane lowers the rover to the Martian surface, then flies off to intentionally crash-land a safe distance away. The title portrays the real phases of the descent to the surface and includes a NASA archive of information about Curiosity and the 2012 Mission to Mars. Perfect for space-lovers everywhere.

PRESS HIGHLIGHTS
This is a good little Kinect game open to anybody, where you can get as much or as little as you'd like out of it. It's exceptionally well made.
